Land Acknowledgment

I reside on the ancestral lands of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, who have been faithful stewards of these lands and waters since time immemorial. As the living descendants of the Duwamish and Upper Puyallup peoples, their ancestors survived forced displacement and continuous colonization to maintain their sacred connection to this region. I give thanks to the First Peoples of this land, recognizing that Washington State’s history, culture, economy, and identity exist today because of their enduring presence and immense contributions.   To learn more about the living history, culture, and community of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, please visit the official Muckleshoot Tribe Website.
